Chess is very old game of strategy in which players try to capture or checkmate their opponent's king. players alternate turns, making one move at a time. The board should be placed so that each player has a "white" square(red if checkerboard is used) on his right. Playing pieces should be placed on the board according to diagram 1.Remember that the black queen is always on the "dark" square and the white Queen always on a "while" square .The Player with the white pieces always move first. when you have learned the move illustrated in the following diagram, you will be ready to play.
